Brannholm is a stunning 1973 Scandinavian modern lodge featuring cedar walls, knotty pine ceilings, and windows along the south and west sides of the home, providing lake views from nearly every room. The home--an architect's masterpiece for his own retirement--has modern, comfortable furnishings, but maintains the fun of the original design by featuring nautical, vintage rustic, and Scandinavian details. At 3200 square feet on .6 acre, the home is double the size of most four bedroom homes in Lincoln City. It doesn't get more "lakefront" than this home! The home's trapezoid shape is built to the waterline, with a 16' seawall and patio extending into the lake. You'll wake to see water all around!
Common Areas
The great room is around 1000 square feet, with an open floorplan centered on a modern rock fireplace. One side has leather reclining seating and a large HD TV with cable, movie channels, Bluray-DVD and Netflix, so you can all watch the game or enjoy the lake view. A Bluetooth speaker allows you to share music together. The upper deck allows you to watch the sunset inside or out. The other side has lakeview dining for the whole family. The dining area flows into a double galley kitchen, featuring a gas cooktop and indoor grill, with space for the whole family to cook together. At the opposite end of the kitchen, you will find a breakfast nook, dry bar, and sunroom with extra space for yoga or morning reflection.
Sleeping
The upstairs 'guest' bedroom is private, and features a king sized bed with a crib available, and a small tv. An extra twin mattress can be made up here (sheets, blankets, pillows provided).

There is also extra sleeping upstairs, the great room daybed is a twin bed (sheets, blankets, pillows provided). You may also catch yourself sleeping in the super-comfy recliners!
To sleep 12 people, 2 people each share the 2 queens and the king bed. The other 6 sleep solo in the twin beds/twin mattresses, daybed, full futon, and full rollaway. Quality linens and Pendleton blankets are provided for all beds.

If you are planning a special meal, we can send an inventory so you know what (if anything) you need to bring.
Amenities
You'll find the home equipped with coffee, tea, staples, and basic spices. There are also games for all ages, children and adult books. A bluetooth speaker allows you to share your music.
Outdoors
Use the dock and patio for your boat, to fish, or to launch your canoe; a swim ladder makes lake access easy. We provide 2 sit on top kayaks, some fishing gear, and life vests. There is a fenced dog run where your dogs can play, and an upper lawn where you can throw a football, or set up volleyball or croquet. Extra outdoor seating in the dog run, and on our detached upper deck. Secure storage is available in the shop for your bikes or other gear. A public boat launch is less than a mile away. NOTE: some outdoor amenities may be unavailable in the off-season, so ask.
Location
Brannholm is close to the beaches of Lincoln city, on the less populated East Side of the lake. Devils lake is much warmer than the Pacific, and is popular for swimming, canoeing/kayaking/SUP, boating, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and wave running. The lake effect gives us sun even when the beach or the valley is fogged in!
Birds abound here in all seasons. In summer, you'll see hummingbirds, osprey, swallows, egrets, herons, kingfishers, and other water birds. In winter, there are eagles, owls, blackbirds, mergansers, grebes and ducks. Rare visitors may make an appearance, such as pileated woodpecker, or the northern spotted owl.
Immediately uphill from Brannholm is the Siuslaw National Forest, home to all kinds of wildlife, mushrooms and berries. Deer, owls, black bear, cougar, and coyotes may venture down the mountain. Old logging roads there are great for mountain biking or a walk in the woods.
Access
There is private parking here for 4-6 cars in our turnaround and garage. Public transit for Lincoln county is about 2 miles away. There are 2 steps to enter the home, and the main level has all of the common space and the 'guest' bedroom.
